Lessons

I teach Western riding, specializing in Trail and Western Pleasure. I have been a western trainer for over 30 years, and I have shown Western Pleasure, Trail, Western Riding, Showmanship, Halter, Equitation, Obedience and Pleasure Driving. I have also been a long time competitor in ETI Sanctioned Trail Trials.

All of my classes are private and include grooming, saddling and riding. The horse is the students responsibility for the duration of each lesson. My horses are well trained Western show horses and they are very easy and fun to ride. Riders will learn to jog, lope, sidepass, work gates and negotiate around a trail course, which is different each lesson.

I teach ages 5 and up, beginner to advanced. Most of my riders are beginner adults who have always wanted to learn to ride. All lessons are private. Students have set lesson times each week. Call for availability. Lessons are held at L Bar S Ranch in Whittier, CA. L Bar S Ranch is a beautiful private ranch located near the 605 freeway and Rose Hills Rd.

Individual Private Lesson - $55.00 per hour
Set of 4 Private Lessons - $200.00

Please note: Due to the popularity of these classes I require at least a days notice for a lesson cancellation, otherwise I still charge for the lesson appointment.

Training
Full training - $350.00 per month over the ranch board fee. Training 4-5 days a week and 2 private lessons per month.

Half training - $240 per month over ranch board fee. Training 3 days a week.

Half training with lessons - $300.00 per month over ranch board fee. Training 3 days a week and 2 private lessons per month.

Partial Training with lessons - $220.00 per month over board fee. Training 2 days a week and 2 private lessons per month.

I do all of the training myself. I do not have any assistants at all. Ground manners work is part of the training. Horses will tie up, clip, use fly spray and have their feet worked with. The stable is an excellent facility, stalls are cleaned daily, and all stalls have automatic waterers. Shavings are available. Horses are fed high quality alfalfa cubes twice daily. All horses must be vaccinated prior to being boarded at L Bar S Ranch. Farrier Ken Naef is available every Thursday.

I start colts, re-train older horses and enhance current training. My program includes ranch related work, standing quietly while mounting, working gates, backing easily, sidepassing, leads, headset, leg yields and trail obstacle work. I also trailer train horses for an extra fee.

Trailering available. All breeds.
